Their commitment to excellence is reflected in every facet of construction and particularly evident in the fit and finish of the interior package. It is refreshing to work with a team that exhibits pride in their work and I am glad to say that it certainly shows.
Cardinal Health, an $87 billion global manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies and technologies, came to Danis with a number of goals for the West Campus Expansion. Among them was earning a LEED Silver certification with a reasonable return on the investment. We discussed options with the owner in terms of detailed return value, and consequently put into place a number of alternative strategies to produce a more sustainable building:
• Excavated rock was crushed and repurposed for the parking lot base.
• Scrap gypsum board was sent for processing to be used as fertilizer.
• 75% of construction waste was diverted from landfills.
Additionally, we implemented our Exterior Envelope Commissioning Program to ensure the integrity of the building shell. Having had water infiltration problems in another of their offices, Cardinal Health was anxious to make sure their new building was watertight. The commissioning was successful, and an extraordinarily reasonable price for the return of having a worry free building envelope.
