CAREERS - CO-OP/INTERN
Co-op/Internship Program
The Danis Co-op Program and internships give you employment experience and help acquaint you with Danis’s organization and culture. Your co-op experience will give you a competitive edge when you are ready to enter the work force and will provide room for individual growth and training.
At Danis, we work with colleges and universities to provide real-world work experience for their students. Our program provides students the opportunity to combine lessons learned in the classroom, with practice out in the field on actual job sites.
A college co-op student is one who is enrolled in a cooperative education program at an accredited four- or five-year college or university leading to a bachelor’s or advanced degree. Co-ops usually work for a four- to five -month period, although most managers are flexible with this requirement.
Other students who seek professional work experience may be employed as interns. Most of our interns work at Danis during summers between academic sessions. However, Danis will work with schools without formal co-op programs to arrange internships for a three- to five -month work period like those in the cooperative education program.
Students are placed in a multitude of positions if they co-op with Danis for more than one session. This allows our co-ops to become familiar and comfortable with everything from our scheduling and estimating programs to our field and job site management. We work hard to ensure that our student employees are able to receive real hands-on training.
Danis considers the use of the co-op and internship programs as an important recruiting tool. The co-op work assignment provides our management the ability to identify your potential, as a prospective employee for the commitment of regular employment and allows you, the student, to evaluate if you feel there is a good cultural fit.
